Current Ministry Partners:

Christian Social Services (CSS) Ministry

Christian Social Services is a specialized ministry of local churches which offers food, clothes, supportive services and Christian hospitality to people in the name of Jesus Christ.  A bin is located in the yellow classroom for you to place your non perishable food items that are delivered to CSS on a regular basis. In addition to this, other opportunities to serve this ministry exist in helping to sort and pack food for the pantry, to sort clothing and household items for the Thrift Store and to volunteer in the Thrift Store. To learn more about this ministry, please contact the church office at (813) 948-2311 or visit the CSS website at www.css-helpinghands.org.

Cornerstone Family Ministry (CFM)

Cornerstone Family Ministries is a non-profit organization that works with over 25,000 families each month across the State of Florida through programs in Early Intervention Child Care, Pre-school Education for at-risk children, Nutrition programs, HUD Senior Housing, Cultural Arts in under-served communities, and a statewide food network. One of the ways we support CFM is by participating in the annual Wonder Walk benefiting the Rosa Valdez and Cuscaden Early Intervention Centers of CFM. Other opportunities to serve this ministry exist in sorting and bagging food, reading to children, assisting teachers in the classroom, chaperoning field trips and assisting in the office. To learn more about this ministry please contact the church office at (813) 948-2311 or visit the CFM website at www.cornerstonefamilyministries.org

Students in Transition (SIT)

On any given night there are 4000+ homeless people in Pasco County and more than 1500 of them are children. Children and families are the fastest growing population of homeless.  Students in Transition is a division of the Pasco County Student Services Department. SIT works in the field to locate children living in a homeless condition to help them get enrolled in school and to obtain all the assistance and supplies they need to achieve their academic goals. Once the children are enrolled in school, SIT works very closely with the teachers and students identifying and working to meet their needs. As of 9/14/09, 1,088 children have received services from SIT up from 581 at the same time a year ago. SIT served 2,447 homeless children in all of 2008. They expect that number will double in the 09/10 school year. Several times a year, we place a bin in the yellow classroom to collect much needed items for these students and their families. Please prayerfully consider contributing to this program to help these children and their families. For more information about the program please contact the church office at (813) 948-2311 or call SIT at 813/794-0608

Operation Christmas Child Ministry (OCC)

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief organization headed by Franklin Graham. This ministry brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love.
Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on mission project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.
We will begin to collect shoe boxes in October and November to ensure they arrive to their destination on time. In addition a team of volunteers will be traveling to Atlanta in December to process the shoe boxes and prepare them for their journey.  This ministry is a great way to involve the whole family. To learn more about this ministry please contact the church office at (813) 948-2311 or visit the Samaritan’s Purse website at www.samaritanspurse.org.

Living in Faith (LIF)

Living in Faith is a nondenominational, independent ministry that provides resources to leverage the work of the local church, primarily in Cuba and Haiti.  LIF provides this help through spiritual programs, training, and meeting the humanitarian needs of the local church communities.  LIF encourages faith-based independence and does not believe in creating a relationship of dependency.  LIF believes that by giving tools to the local churches, they can work most effectively to draw both Christians and non-Christians into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and each other.
LIF ministry focuses on Vision for Christ (eyeglass ministry), Woman at the Well (water purification systems), Humanitarian Assistance, Disaster Relief, Ancient Paths seminars, Walks to Emmaus, and in developing special outreach programs to leverage the work of the local church. To learn more about this ministry and upcoming mission trips please contact the church office or visit the LIF website at www.livinginfaith.net.

International Cooperating Ministries (ICM)

ICM began in 1988. Their mission is to nurture believers and assist Church growth worldwide. ICM has partnered to build over 3,000 churches in more than 45 countries. ICM-partnered churches become place and presence for worship and outreach in communities. The church serves congregants as they enable the church to become salt and light dispensaries in their communities, bringing new believers to the foot of the Cross and placing unbelievers in the pathway of God’s transforming power. In 2005 HUMC partnered with ICM to build a church in India. We will be partnering with ICM again in 2010 to build another church. To learn more about this ministry please contact the church office at (813) 948-2311 or visit the ICM website at www.icm.org.
